Taking its name from the ancient name for Whitby, Streanaeshalch (pronounced Strenshall) is a four-star rated modern semi-detached town house on the banks of the beautiful River Esk.  Located in a small private development under the picturesque Larpool Viaduct (c1885), it is just a 5 minute drive or 20 minute walk from the hustle and bustle of Whitby old town.

Tastefully furnished and equipped to a high standard, Streanaeshalch offers you a warm welcome, whether you enjoying hill-walking, strolling on the beach or just sitting and watching the world go by.

A first floor balcony provides alfresco dining in the warmer months or an ideal spot to sit and watch the varied wildlife on the river (herons, seals, kingfishers, cormorants ... one visitor saw an otter!) and the fabulous sights and sounds of the passing North York Moors Railway steam trains - just wave and the driver will blow the whistle!

A great home from which to explore both the beautiful Heritage Coastline and the North York Moors National Park at any time of year.
